Monday Nights "Technical Power Skating with Pucks"

Session 4: 2009 & Older (AAA-BB)

 This program is designed to give your son/daughter 10 hours of technical power skating on ice. Skaters will be grouped according to age and ability on the ice. Proper skating development will not work if the skater first, is not able to master certain skating skills. If the skater is pushed to work on a skill that is above their skating level the technical learning curve is disrupted. Sessions will be taught with and without pucks.

-- Phase 1 (5 weeks): Skaters will focus on the technical side of skating by developing longer and more efficient strides, while also working on edge control, pivots, and transitions, with a focus on core muscle movements such as balance and mobility.

-- Phase 2 ( 5 weeks): Will include movements taught in Phase 1, but will be taught at an accelerated speed with pucks in drill type setting. Players will work on quick feet, agility, transition, overall speed, change of speed, and crossovers with pucks.
